Should We Move, Or Should We Not
August 16, 2008 by Michelle Waters
So, everything is still up in the air with The House.
I still love the inside, love the landscape, and can live with the shop.
My husband assured me back in May, when we first found The House, that he’d be able to make The Internet work out in The Boondocks. That we might need a 50-foot pole, but we could get the good service, as opposed to the terrible satellite service.
But now, suddenly, he’s not so sure. And he’s concerned that my brother will take up all the space in the shop and he’ll never get to work on any of our projects.
So, I told him to call my brother and tell him about his concerns. Now. Like, three months ago.
*sigh*
I told him we should call the Internet company to find out what they can do for us. See if there is anyone else in the area that is using their service. Drive around a bit and see if anyone has a 50-foot pole in their yard and perhaps knock on their door and see if we can run a speed test on their Internet connection. (OK, so that might be taking it a little too far….)
Because really, no Internet is a deal-breaker. Since I run an online business, I must have reliable, high-speed (real high-speed, not pretend satellite high-speed) service.
Still trying to figure out why we don’t know the answer to this, three months after we decided we wanted the house.
I think I’m going to think about this tomorrow…
