Personalized Coaching Programs

One-On-One And Group Coaching Programs For Physical Product Sellers

My coaching is available for anyone who wants fast answers and advice from an
expert for their online physical product selling business.

What topics do I coach about?

  • Starting an online business
  • Moving your existing website
  • Evaluating an existing, under equipped business

This topic list isn’t exhaustive. We can talk about whatever
you need to discuss. Before our sessions, you’ll need to send me a list of
topics you’d like to discuss, so that I can prepare myself to fully answer your
questions and provide you with the advice you need to grow your business.

It’s hard getting ideas from your husband all day. He tries to give me answers, but it’s nice to get ideas from someone who knows what I’m going through. Its been really good to talk with someone that is able to tell me I’m on the right track. On the forums I see there are alot of beginner questions and I’m past that. I’m so glad to get the homework and expertise from you.
–Beth Standen, WUYFAvors.com

You can even use your session to bounce ideas off me. I’ll give you instant feedback to help you make a decision, plan you business, create new growth and more!

The risk is minimal. If I feel like I don’t have the expertise you are
looking for, I’ll let you know and immediately refund your payment.

If we start
our first phone session and you feel that we aren’t clicking, please let me
know. We can end the call and again, I’ll send you an immediate refund. I only
want to coach those people who will benefit from my experience — and I imagine
you only want to be coached by someone who can help you.

Do You Value Yourself?

August 13, 2008 by Michelle Waters · 3 Comments

I bet if I asked you that question directly, you’d say, “Yes! Of course, I do.”

But do you really?

Take a close look at your business, crunch the numbers, and then see, do you really value yourself? If you figure out exactly how much money you’re making per hour, would you be like the woman in my colleague Kelly McCausey’s “I Need More Money Now!” post, who is really only making $2-3 per hour — and is happy about it?

Kelly is talking about get rich quick schemes. But I know of several women business owners who are making pennies for the products that they create at home. And I know other women who are in the same boat — and who gripe about having to pay “too much” for products created by women who DO value themselves and their time.

Read through Kelly’s post and you’ll hear the desperation in this woman’s post. And you’ll see the answer in Kelly’s reply.

In short, you need to value yourself, to be willing to accept — no expect — to be paid well for the time, love and sacrifice that you put in to your work.

So what can we do?

The first thing, is to realize that you are valueable. God created you and he doesn’t create junk. You deserve to be paid for the time, effort and expertise you put into the products that you sell.

Second, you need to raise your prices. You need to be paid for your time, for your expenses, for your materials. And you need to be paid well.

Third, the work at home mom and women-owned business communities need to get their heads out of the sand and start looking up to those women who DO respect themselves and figuring out how create our own success.

If you have any questions about how to increase your prices, or how much you should charge, head over to my business coaching page. I’d be happy to spend an hour helping you realize how valuable you are.

Moving Your Site To A New Domain Name

August 13, 2008 by Michelle Waters · Leave a Comment

Changing the domain name of your site seems pretty easy at first.

You just submit a helpdesk ticket to tech support, they wave their magic wand over the server and your domain name is changed.

Right?

Unfortunately for one of my SKP clients, it’s more complex than this.

How To Hire The Right Business Coach

August 7, 2008 by Michelle Waters · 6 Comments

Speak with successful business owners and one of the most important things they’ll tell you is that they couldn’t have made it without the wise advise of others.

Seeking advice from people who have been there, done that can cut your learning curve down significantly, increasing your chances of succeeding. Go it alone, and you’re doomed to make mistakes that can cripple your business in the long run.

Chances are though, if you’re reading this post, you already know this. And you’re seriously searching for the information you need to start your business on the right foot.

Often, the problem is finding the right business coach to hire. With so many people hanging their business coaching shingle on the internet, it’s hard to know who to hire to help you. And prices vary widely. I’ve seen non-guru coaches charge as much as $300 a month for four coaching sessions. And I’ve worked with coaches who only charged $120 for the same amount of time.

So, how do you know who to choose when you’re looking for a business coach?

Prevent Business Failure By Cultivating A Positive Attitude

June 19, 2008 by Michelle Waters · Leave a Comment

I wrote a list of top 6 reasons why businesses fail on the Self Starters Weekly Tips forum a few weeks ago. Forum owner Lynn Terry then published the list on her blog, Click Newz.

At your request, I’m providing answers to these problems based on my years of experience with selling products and services online.

This time, we’ll talk about the #5 reason businesses fail.

#5 Negative Attitude

In a certain corner of the Internet, exercising a negative attitude is considered an art form. Most of those people are not entrepreneurs, and certainly not successful business owners.

If you’re part of that corner, I recommend you get out now. I did and it completely changed my business — and my life.

I can look back now and see how my negative attitude impacted my family AND my business.

My dad used to say: Can’t never did do anything. How right he was.

As business owners, we often look at the success of others and think, “I can’t do that.” Or we look at a tough project we’re facing (like getting any kind of work done while the kids are out of school for the summer) and think, “I can’t possibly do that.”

My Solution: Stop thinking up reasons why you can’t succeed, why you can’t start your business, why you can’t pay for a professional site design or hire a business coach.

Start thinking about how you CAN do succeed. You may not be able to succeed in the same way someone else did. Your definition of success might be different than someone else’s. But if you have a positive attitude and follow the previous advice, such as take action, then you will be head and shoulders closer to success than the rest of the pack.

If you’re struggling with a negative attitude and would like some help focusing on a positive plan of action, I’d love to help. Just schedule a business coaching session with me and I’ll help you see your business in a new light.

Prevent Business Failure By Planning Ahead

I wrote a list of top 6 reasons why businesses fail on the Self Starters Weekly Tips forum a few weeks ago. Forum owner Lynn Terry then published the list on her blog, Click Newz.

At your request, I’m providing answers to these problems based on my years of experience with selling products and services online.

This time, we’ll talk about the #4 reason businesses fail.

#4 Lack Of Planning

Recent advances in Internet speed and availability, and online software has made it incredibly easy to hang your shingle, so to speak, on the internet.

What ends up happening though is someone has a great idea. They run over to Watersweb Shops and buy a Shop Kit Plus. They hire Kristine to create a web design. They upload photos of their products that they’re selling through a dropshipping program.

And then they get stuck. They have no idea who they’re marketing to, where they’re going to find website visitors, much less customers.

Perhaps they muddle along and find some customers, or perhaps they lucked into having a built-in target market because they are well-known at an online forum. The next thing they know, people are buying their stuff like hotcakes and they can’t keep up with it.

A friend of mine had this problem with her diaper cake business. She made awesome diaper cakes and acheived a #1 ranking in the search engines. But success killed the business. She found herself, her kids and her husband struggling to fill the orders.

If she had had a plan for growing her business and handling success, she would have been able to outsource her production, train employees or subcontractors to take care of the overload.

Lack of customers and website traffic is not the only thing that will kill your business. Sometimes success will too, unless you plan for it.

My Solution: Plan to outsource, create a business plan and create a marketing plan. If you need help with your business plan, you can easily create one in just a couple of hours with One Page Business Plan.

If you’re not sure where you want to go, or need help solidifying your ideas, I’d love to work with you and help you. Just contact me through my business coaching page.
